This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the importance of Gender, Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector. The course will cover key concepts in GEDSI, universal markers of marginalization in the context of WASH, and barrier analysis. Participants will also learn about inclusive WASH and how to design and implement WASH interventions that promote gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion.

Course Objectives

1. Understand the importance of GEDSI in the WASH sector.

2. Develop a working knowledge of key concepts in GEDSI.

3. Identify universal markers of marginalization in the context of WASH, including gender,

disability, age, and health status.

4. Conduct a barrier analysis to identify barriers to GEDSI in WASH.

5. Learn about inclusive WASH and how to design and implement WASH interventions that

promote GEDSI.

Module 4: Barrier analysis

• Identifying barriers to GEDSI in WASH

• Addressing barriers to GEDSI in WASH

Module 5: Inclusive WASH

• Principles of inclusive WASH

• Designing and implementing WASH interventions that promote GEDSI

• Monitoring and evaluating inclusive WASH interventions.

Certification

Participants will be issued Digital Certification after successful completion of the training.
